Tongue Weight Capacity for 2014 Mazda CX-5 Trailer Hitch and Motorcycle Carrier

Question:

Would you be able to confirm if Item # e98902 would allow me to carry a motorcycle on a Black Widow motorcycle carrier with a 600lb weight limit? The 2014 Mazda CX-5 specs only speak of a 200 lb tongue weight limit. Since this hitch offers a 600 lb tongue weight, would it be safe to use if loading up to 600 pounds on it? Thanks,

The hitch is rated independent of the vehicle so with the 2014 Mazda CX-5 owners manual specifying a lower 200 lb capacity, that will be the max capacity including the carrier weight.

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98902 is rated for a 600 lb tongue weight. This hitch will allow you to use a motorcycle carrier and motorcycle but you need to subtract the weight of the carrier from the 600 lb maximum.
