I am looking at braking systems for a 2020 Ford Ranger that I will flat tow behind 40 Tiffin Phaeton. What is the distance that the transmitter/receiver requires?

There is not a specific range that that is limiting in regards to the distance between the ICX transmitter and monitor for the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400, and will absolutely work on a 40 foot motorhome without issue.

The transmitter is what relays the signal to your monitor about the status of the braking system, but it's the inertia sensor in the system that actually activates the brakes. The Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 will work with your 2020 Ford Ranger, and with it you will need the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332.

Since it sounds like you are looking to flat tow your '20 Ranger, there are other parts you'll need along with the braking system, which I'll list for you.
