Choosing the Correct Adjustable Shank for Weight Distribution System On a 2019 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

i have a tongue weight of about 850ish and a 27’ 5700 lbs trl on a 19 gmc 2500 hd with the wdhhitch at its lowest spot the trailer is still lower in the back than the front..when i don’t use a weight distribution hitch it all sits lever.. truck sits an inch lower in rear and up 1/4 in front ... how do i get it to sit level with a wdh when the hitch is at its lowest position and the front is still higher than the rear??

It sounds like the shank on the weight distribution system you have does not offer enough drop adjustment, which is causing your trailer to not be level.

Depending on the weight distribution system you have you can purchase a different shank like the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # 17120 that will allow up to 5-3/4 inch drop for a trunnion system to help get your trailer level. I included an article that goes over how to measure for the correct rise/drop for your setup.
