Question:
I have a Lippert 7k axle with drum brakes on a 2017 Jayco Pinnacle. I ordered the HSE7K-T1 and installed the back plate and rotor. When attempting to slide the caliper over the rotor, it does not line up. With the pads lined up with the rotor, the caliper is about an 1/8 inch or so to far forward and wont slide in place. In order to line the mounting up, the pad sits back about an 1/8 of an inch and is hitting the rotor. I have swapped out mounting plates calipers and rotors multiple timessince I have 4 each, but all seem to be the same result. It is like the mounting plate needs a spacer between the flange and plate or something to move the caliper out or the hub/rotor needs to set back another 1/8 inch or so. I have checked that the race is seated, so I see no way for the rotor to sit back any further than it is. Have you experienced any problems of this sort before.

I called HydraStar on your behalf and they said the most likely problem with the caliper of the HydraStar Disc Brake, part # HSE7K-T1, not lining up correctly is because the piston needs to be reset into the caliper.
I also spoke with one of our installation experts, and he believes this may be the problem as well.
To reset the caliper, place a brake pad in the piston side and use a c-clamp like part # PTW5100 to seat it to push it in all of the way.
If this doesn't solve your problem, let me know and I will assist you further.
