Question:
I have a 2016 Ford Escape and recently bought this wiring harness from you. I have installed. I also have a Detail 2K trailer. The problem i have is the 4 way connectors won’t match. I can’t get them to connect. Is there an adapter I need or should i change out the connector on the trailer. Thanks

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56335 is the correct fit for your 2016 Ford Escape and comes with the standard 4-way vehicle side connector. If your trailer doesn't have the standard 4-way trailer connector for the trailer side like # HM38134 for example, then you will want to replace it. You can splice in a connector like this or replace the entire wiring harness with # A20WB for example. I've attached an article on trailer wiring to assist.
If I misunderstood your question and your trailer has a 7-way trailer connector, then you will want to add the # ETBC7L to your vehicle side as the 4 way to 7 way adapter along with brake controller # C51180 to avoid any wiring under your dash and give you trailer brakes.
