The 2-Pole Socket Connector # PK12801 that you referenced would be internally waterproof but uses exposed terminals so it's not ideal for applications where it would get submerged but in standard outside applications it would do fine exposed to most weather.

The #PK12801 has the following dimensions: Top to Bottom: 3-5/8" Side to side: 3-3/4" Cut out: 1-13/16" I've also added a diagram with these dimensions for you to check out.
