Question:
Hi, can I install a 7 way round harness directly onto my Outlander Sport or do I need to start with a 4 way flat and then add an adapter and a brake controller? Thank you!

So there isn't a plug-in option for a 7-way for your 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, which means to add a 7-way you will need to start with a 4-way connector and then add the 7-way adapter to utilize a brake controller. Here are the parts you'll need for this, and please note the correct 4-way for your '19 Outlander Sport will depend on if you have LED taillights or not.
- With LED Taillights: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118538
- Without LED Taillights: Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59496
Then to complete your wiring set up, including adding the 7-way, you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
Then for a brake controller I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR
I really like this brake controller because it controls the braking with a small knob so you don't have a bulky unit under the dash interfering with you, is simple to use with just a control knob which gives you a lot of control over your braking. I have added links below to video reviews for you to check out as well if you'd like.
