Can I Use Two Thule Hullavators # TH898 For My Two Kayaks On My 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon?

Question:

I have a 2020 Subaru Outback Touring XT. I also have two kayaks weighing 50 lbs each will I be able to use the hullavator system on my outback will my roof take the load. And what parts will be needed to complete the installation will a 50foot inch crossbar be long enough for clearance on both sides or 58 inch

The Thule Hullavator Pro # TH898 will work on your 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon but it only has the capabilities of carrying one kayak and there is no way to get two systems on your roof. If you are wanting to carry both of your kayaks at the same time, you will need a roof rack system. If you have factory raised rails you can use the Malone AirFlow 2 Roof Rack # MPG216. They are 58 inches long, made of aluminum and have an aerodynamic look to them. This will help prevent loss of fuel economy as it will cut through the air better than other style bars.

If you have Factory Flush Rails, you will need the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711220, the Rapid Podium Feet # TH460R and the Fit Kit # THKIT4063. Then you can get two of our etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878. Both will fit on your roof rack system. I like our carriers just because they are simple, easy to use and can adjust for whatever kayak you throw at it. The other nice thing is that they come with straps! So you will have everything you need to carry your kayaks!

If you really like the Thule Hullavator, you could fit one on top of the bars and put our carrier on the other side. Just make sure you have 4-8 inches past the feet of your roof rack system because this is the requirement for the Thule Hullavator. Our carrier doesn't assist you when you're loading and unloading your kayak, but is just as easy as any other J-Style Kayak Carrier.

Having both of our carriers will be the easiest install, but you can also go with both the Hullavator and our J-Style carrier as well!

I have two kayaks. Can I use a single hullavator to load each boat (individually), and just slide the first boat over to the other side of the roof? Or do I really need two hullavators, one for each boat? Trevor PS. Driving a 2020 Rav4

@Trevor Generally you would want to use tow Hullavators for two boats. Does your RAv4 have a naked roof? Or do you have factory roof rails running from front to back? If yes, are they the factory flush rails, or raised rails?
