Installation of Bristol Waste Valve Extension Rod

Question:
I have a bent pull rod on my LaSalle Bristol cable actuated black dump valve. I called and spoke with Bristol who informed me I should be able to replace just the rod itself and not the entire valve assembly. I’ve ordered the 6” extension rod part # 34466SP1106 that Bristol recommended. Does the rod itself simply unscrew or how do I remove the rod for replacement? It doesn’t seem as simple as just unscrewIng the rod and I’m unable to find any information online. Thank you!

The Extension Rod for LaSalle Bristol Waste Valve - 6" Long # 34466SP1106 will thread onto the cable rod on your LaSalle Bristol Cable Actuated Waste Valve like the # 34466N4AB96GMA. The extension rod has MPT threads to fit onto the valve handle and the FPT end threads onto the blade rod inside the cable.
We don't have a video of this installation as of yet, but it will be a fairly straightforward process.
