Will the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit Work With 3,500 Lb Axles

Question:

I was thinking about using these on my car hauler that has 3500 lb axles. I need to replace the bushings anyway with greaseable units. My equalizer measures 7.75 from shackle hole to shackle hole and 3 from shackle hole center line to hangar hole and 4.875 from shackle hole to hangar hole. I was reading were you mentioned a person would not necessarily feel difference on 3000 lb axles but it is some cushion as opposed to the solid steel equalizer, correct. I also have shackles that measure 2.625 and didnt want to change a bunch of stuff. Suggestions please, thanks.

The Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit part # K71-653-00 will work just fine on 3,500 axles assuming the measurements match up which in your case they do. I have spoken to Dexter about this before and the weight capacity listed is more or less a guide to help customers choose the right set as more often than not, axle capacities within a certain range will have a standardized spacing. The hardness of the rubber cushion would not be an issue to the best of my knowledge.
