Question:
I have a 2012 Ford F350 with the FX4 off road package and Fords stock trailer hitch. I need to tow a 21foot Bass boat. I know this truck rides higher than my 2004 F250, so I need a new ball mount. I measured from the ground to the bottom of the opening of the hitch and it was 21. With the trailer leveled, I measured from the ground to the bottom of the ball cup and it was 16. Do you know what size I would need for this? Thank you

I attached an FAQ article on how to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount for a towing setup.
Since you measured to the bottom of the hitch opening you will want to add 2 inches to that figure since it is recommended to measure to the top of the opening. So that gives you 23 inches minus 16 which gives equals 7. Since we do not carry a 7 inch drop ball mount I would recommend you go with a 6 inch drop like the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4282.
Once the suspension of your truck compresses from the tongue weight of your boat trailer your trailer should sit level.
If you need hitch balls you might also be interested in purchasing 2 inch Diameter Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16 inch hitch ball # 19286.
