Question:

Hi. I have a 2015 Ford Edge Titanium. I wanted to know what the main differences are between the Yakima Halfback and the Fullback? We have 2 bikes 1 male 1 female, and we are trying to decide which version is best. Additionally, our bikes weigh one pound over the maximum. My bike is 34lbs, and his is 35lbs. Will 1lb make a huge difference in which model to buy, or the number of bikes the rack should carry 2 bike vs 3 bike rack?

The Yakima FullBack 2-Bike Rack # Y02634 is a good bike rack that comes with security options integrated in the rack. It comes with an integrated steel-reinforced strap which stores inside your vehicle to protect it from theft, as well as an integrated cable lock to secure your bikes to the rack.

The Fullback can carry two 35 lb bikes, since you're right at or just below 35 lbs this rack will work for you. The only thing you may need is Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 if your female bike has a step-through frame, as some do. This will give the bike a horizontal mounting point.
