Installing and Removing Yakima Fullback 2 Bike Rack on 2013 Hyundai Tucson

Question:

Hi, I can easily install the rack but removing the top hooks to uninstall the rack is near impossible on my 2013 Hyndai Tucson. Should I be using anchors rather than the hooks or is there a trick to removing the hooks from the top of the hatch? Thank you.

The Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634 doesn't have any specific instructions for your 2013 Hyundai Tucson. It appears you simply need to uninstall the lower hooks first and with some slack in the hooks you will remove in the same way they were installed. Make sure your hub setting is 4 as that is what the manufacturer specifies for your vehicle with the hatch to base pad measurement of 4-3/4 inches. With those specs the hooks are a fit according to the manufacturer and you shouldn't use anchor mode.
