Question:

Hi, I just received the spare tire carrier. I have having trouble mounting it to my Triton XL snowmobile trailer. It has a 3in wide frame. But when you try and tighten the angle pieces they hit the tire hub. And at this point it is way to loose to lock up. Any suggestions? The frame is 3in in height and 2in in thickness. I was thing of adding spacers?

The CE Smith Spare Tire Carrier - Locking - Steel - 4-Lug and 5-Lug Wheels - 8-3/4" # CE27202 is designed for trailer frames up to 3 inches wide. You will want to have the brackets screw down all the way to the hub or you won't hold the tire tight. I recommend using the lug nuts # CE11050 and then the brackets and lock. This keeps the tire tight to the frame, the wheel tight and yet centered and unscratched, and then the brackets and lock close to those lug nuts.
