Can I determine bearing sizes by the Serial number on a Autoflex-knott axle Type VGB17 / 38-L. 6AC616.001 Serial # 1712578018 Load Cap.- 3750 lbs Thanks in Advance Other opinion is breaking down assembly

While I understand it isn't very fun, the only way to determine the correct bearings is to take apart your hub. You will either be able to see the bearing numbers directly on the bearings when you wipe away the grease, or you will need to use digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearing rides on the spindle.

For a bearing packer you can use LubriMatic Deluxe Bearing Packer # L70025 or Powerbuilt Deluxe Bearing Packer # ALL647646.
