Lift Kit For Tandem Axle Trailer Where Axles are Below Springs

Question:

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 63inch box, factory suspension with 18inch tires, that is 60inch to the rear corner of the box. The fifth wheel is a 2018. To be level there is only about 3-3 1/2inch between the box and the overhang. The pin box and fifth wheel hitch have been adjusted as much as possible and still have the trailer level, which is a MUST. The axle is already under the springs. The trailer needs to be lifted 3. I flipped the axle on my last fifth wheel for my old truck so I know about flipping axles. I looking for an answer, more technical than it will be bouncy and wear out the trailer sooner an answer from etrailer to someone who asked about lifting their trailer. How do spacer blocks make a trailer more bouncy? I have talked to one of the major trailer frame manufactures in the US a couple of times. I have talked to RV services centers a few, weld shops a couple, a spring shop, read about the issue in one of the most popular RV/travel magazines for better than 15 years and someone who works in the automotive industry that tested mid sized trucks for failure of suspension, all about technically why blocks wont work. No one has a technical answer. What is/are the technical action/s going on that make a lift block unsafe/not recommended, but a spring hanger bolt on extension by that major frame manufacture is ok? It is also ok to make an extension of rectangular tubing of the width of the trailer frame and the lift height needed 3 with new hanger brackets that is welded to the frame once the old hanger brackets are cut off? Im looking for answer/s of more substance than not recommended, I dont know, ...would be bouncy.... Thank you,

We offer lift blocks for torsion style trailer suspension which you don't have and we don't have feedback on them that bounce was noticeable. I could see maybe how raising the trailer center of gravity would cause the suspension to behave differently but I wouldn't say it would always create bounce. We do have the tandem axle lift kit part # RR23QX which would give you an additional 2-1/4 inches of height which would put your in the acceptable range of 4 to 6 inches between the bed rails and trailer overhang.
