Can Accessories Be Installed In Bottom Channels On Yakima HD Crossbars

The Yakima HD bars have t-slots both top and bottom. Can the bottom slot be used to mount accessories in addition to the top slot? What size nut is appropriate for the slots either metric size or imperial?

In regards to Yakima HD Crossbars like part # Y01157, you can secure accessories in both the top and bottom channels. These channels are pretty much a standard size so you can use track mounted accessories from pretty much any brand such as Thule, Rhino-Rack, Rola, Etc. The T-Bolt Kit part # THXADAPT12 would work for custom applications. That said, there isn't an exact size nut that must be used inside the channels.
