Where Are the Demco Straight Safety Cables Measured From

Question:

I need to find a safety cable to keep my vehicle on the tow dolly if the wheel strap gives up. Unfortunately this means I need a pretty precise length, 52 inches is my best guess. I might be able to live with a little longer, but not shorter. The best I can find is the Demco Straight Safety Cable DM9523051 at 54 inches long. Can you give me the length of the cable measured from the inside of the S hooks. Also could you give me the length from inside of one S hook to the inside of the loop on the other end. Thanks.

The Demco Straight Safety Cables part # DM9523051 measures 54" from the center of one loop end to the center of the other. This is how all safety cables are measured. In regards to the s-hook, the center of the open end to the center of the closed end is about 1-1/2" but this is a rather hard measurement to get precise as there isn't really a center point of the s-hook to measure from.
