Is a Cover Needed for the Valterra Flush Mounted Telescoping Water Inlet

Is this part intended to sure on the exterior it the camper our behind a door or cover if some kind? Will it hold up and stay sealed in the sun?

The Valterra Flush Mounted Telescoping Water Inlet for RVs part # R920BK is designed to be installed on the exterior of the trailer out in the open. If you have some sort of cover to place over the water inlet you can do this but it's not required and will hold up just fine without one. There shouldn't be any issues at all with sun exposure.
