Question:
I have a 08 F150 with a stock transmission cooler. The cooler measures 5 1/4x22. Provided that two of the D16105 5-inch fans fit behind the stock trans cooler, is the 315 cfm from each fan going to provide any additional benefit to the cooling of the transmission fluid if the vehicle is traveling at speeds 55 or higher. One other question: Does the 350 cfm become an adder to the natural velocity of the air when the vehicle is in motion, considering there is no forced air movement at this time?

Expert Reply:
Adding fans like # D16105 will optimize the cooling efficiency of the factory cooler but you are not likely to see additional benefits if traveling at highway speeds. The benefits will come with the vehicle moving slowly are stopped.
What I recommend is adding a supplemental remote cooler with its own fan, like # D12733 or a kit like # D15950. The benefit is that you can mount this type of cooler where you have space and you will receive the optimum amount of cooling.
