I can absolutely explain how the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for your flat lip coupler works, and it is extremely simple.
What happens is you will slide the lock over your flat lip coupler, and push the pin up - it won't take any strength at all, you can do it with a finger. With the pin up, just turn the key and you're done; it's locked to the coupler. When you want to remove it, turn the key in the opposite direction and the pin will come down. That's literally all there is to it! If you go to about the 2:50 mark of the linked video review you can see a demonstration of this.
The correct lock for your coupler is going to depend on the size of hitch ball your flat lip coupler accepts. You can also decide if you want a yellow or silver coupler.
