The lock is constructed of extruded, tempered aluminum, making it strong and durable. Quick, Simple Operation

To install this lock on your coupler, insert the key and rotate it to release the locking pin. Slide the lock body onto the flat lip of your trailer coupler. Push the locking pin into the hitch ball socket to engage, rotate the key back to lock the pin in place, and remove the key.

Most coupler locks won't fit on our vintage camper because the ball closure sits on top. This lock is compact and does the job great. Very pleased and the price was reasonable.

This coupler lock is meant to work with couplers that have a flat lip like part # DM14976-52. The lock recommended for your coupler is part # C66DR.

I looked up the part number you suggested. That will not work on the trailer as there is no place to put the lock through anything. It has to be a lock that goes up inside the coupler. The latch flips down to secure it and there are no holes for through locking. If you can recommend the correct lock I’m happy to buy it but I don’t want to waste money on locks that don’t fit like the one I purchased already.

My apologies as I picked the lock for the Demco EZ latch couplers, however looks like yours does not have the hole in the side for it to slide through. In that case then I recommend part # TMX77FR instead.

1 year followup: Very pleased with this set of 5 keyed-alike locks. With 3 boats and 2 travel trailers, digging for the correct key was always a pain. Now one key unlocks them all, and with the extra keys I can keep one in my garage, one in the shop, etc. so no time spent retrieving the key from my truck. The high visibility yellow powder coat lets folks know that my stuff is protected. Also, when parking the boat trailer in camp, I can double up security by using my pin type Master adjustable stainless latch lock as well.

Totally pleased. After a year of use, all 5 are working great and my equipment is nice and secure. There may be some types of tongue that these will not fit, but overall the design is nearly 100 universal. I do have one trailer, a 1946 home built tear, and these locks wont lock onto that 75 year old socket, but I just use a pin lock on that one. No complaints whatsoever. The keyed alike feature sure saves a lot of steps too.

We do some boondocking and we're concerned about leaving our teardrop unhitched while enjoying the area. This lock, aling woth a heavy duty lock for the chains gives us some comfort. We hope this deters a thief and they move along for easier opportunities.

These work okay. It's also nice being able to have all of the locks keyed the same.
I purchased two, One for a 2-5/16" coupler a year earlier and this one for a 2" coupler. The larger one is still working okay, but this one failed after about 9 months. Not sure if defective or poor quality. Waiting to see how the other one holds up.

The lock may be great, I’ll only know if I discover it deterred a theft. My 3 stars are about the recognition that my order took weeks longer than originally informed. A couple days after it was due, I received a message saying that the order was delayed because of product unavailability. It was already overdue, I wish I’d been updated earlier, so I could possibly find another option.
This company is great in some ways. When I ordered my first order (a trailer hitch assembly kit to be installed on my vehicle.) I received same day response from the CSR team. A month or two later when I tried, more than twice to get some answers, I never received a single call or reply.
I instead sought help from a local vendor.
But because the actual product was not the issue, I returned my business for additional purchases.
Average is all I have to report about this company. At least average is better than lousy.

It doesn't fit. Normal galvanized trailer, no rolled lip. Tried hammering it in, looks like it should work, but can't get it on enough to engage the lock.

I bought two and it has been so nice not grabbing the wrong key since they are both keyed the same and I managed lose all my spare keys but one i was able to call and order two more. While speaking with the lady she was trying to look up my locks to find the key number having the one key just made it simpler. I had faith in her that she would be able to find my key info. I would suggest that you take a picture of your key number or write it down somewhere you will be able to remember to simplify your order

This lock doesn’t fit my Atwood style coupler even though a picture in your product reviews show it installed on a coupler that looks identical to mine. Perhaps some work with a file, grinder or dremel tool would modify it for acceptable use, but not what had planned for the money.

Easy to install/remove. I do wish it was there was an option made of a different material. maybe a stainless steel? I think the aluminum could be overcome with a few good blows from a hand sledge. Love the fact that most products have videos. Very helpful in choosing the correct product.

I just looked inside of the tire cover box. The hitch lock was in there. No markings, no indication that misc. Items were in the box marked as the tire cover. Good thing that I looked as it was gifts for two separate people and the boxes would not have been opened until Christmas.

I suggest a note or something be placed in the packaging box if multiple items will be placed into other boxes.

Recommended Coupler Lock For An Aluma 7812 Utility Trailer
Hey Mark, I'm assuming you're wanting a coupler lock for your trailer? If so, I recommend going with either the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock - Flat Lip 1-7/8" and 2" Ball Couplers # e98897 or the # e98895 if you have a 2-5/16" coupler. This aluminum body coupler locks mount in place of a ball so that no one can take off with your trailer. You will want to check your coupler first to make sure it has a flat bottom so that the locks can fit. If not, let me know and I can look for an alternative.

Recommended Keyed Alike Coupler Lock for 1 7/8" and 2" Couplers
Hey Jerrold, the Master Lock Trigger Style Coupler Lock # 605DAT is not keyed alike unfortunately, it is keyed unique. Instead, I'd recommend using the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock # e98897 which is basically the same thing, will fit the same size couplers, and can be keyed alike.

Is etrailer Coupler Lock As Easy to Defeat as Curt Coupler Lock
While the etrailer coupler lock part # e98897 and the Curt # C23086 are somewhat similar the etrailer has a different lock setup so it would not be able to be defeated in the same way. With that said I really like the Fastway coupler lock part # FA86-0015-317 as fits easier and provides the best protection that we've found.

What Will Prevent Movement/Noise in 1-1/4 inch Hitch
Sounds like what you are looking for is a hitch anti-rattle system. This will eliminate the movement between the hitch opening and your ball mount which will then stop the noise you are hearing. With two products, we can get this done. We have the part # e98997 for a hitch lock but would only work if your ball mount has a hollow shank. Then add the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061-125 will remove the rattle regardless of if the shank is hollow or solid but does not feature a lock....

How to Use the etrailer Coupler Lock for Flat Lip Couplers
I can absolutely explain how the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for your flat lip coupler works, and it is extremely simple. What happens is you will slide the lock over your flat lip coupler, and push the pin up - it won't take any strength at all, you can do it with a finger. With the pin up, just turn the key and you're done; it's locked to the coupler. When you want to remove it, turn the key in the opposite direction and the pin will come down. Trailer Coupler Lock for a U-Haul 5x8 Enclosed Trailer
There isn't much information on what size coupler the U-Haul trailers use. However, they state they are compatible with 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls. So, more than likely they use 2" couplers. The 2-5/16" Coupler Lock, part # e98895, will fit on them, but there will probably be quite a bit of play. I recommend going with the smaller version, part # e98897. We have a variety of locks for your coupler, each with their own applications. If you have a fat lip coupler, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock - Flat Lip, part # e98897. This yellow lock can fit a 2" coupler and is an immediate deterrent as the color quickly grabs attention. The lock has a stem that reaches into the coupler and can't be wiggled free. I have a solution but unfortunately the Master Lock Trailer Coupler Lock part # ML389DAT can not be ordered with a specific key number. Instead the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for Flat Lip part # e98895 can be ordered keyed alike. It doesn't work on the 1 7/8" coupler, for that use the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock part # e98897.
