Can EZ Lube Hub be Replaced by Non-EZ Lube Hub
Updated 04/01/2020 | Published 03/31/2020 >
Question:
Can I use a regular non ezlube hub on an ez lube spindle? Do i just remove the zerk fitting in the spindle and reuse the ezlube nut and washer? And add a bearing buddy for future grease

The only difference between EZ lube hubs and non-EZ lube hubs is the dust cover/cap on the hub. The EZ lube hubs have a rubber plug you can pull out whereas the non-EZ lube hubs have a cab without a cover. You don't even have to remove the zerk fitting if you don't want to. Best option is to grease by hand and not use a Bearing Buddy in my opinion as they typically allow people to overfill the hubs which eventually blows out the grease seal.
I attached a video that covers packing hubs by hand for you to check out as well.
