Trailer Hub and Wheel Size Compatibility

Question:

The hubs I have now are on my 3500 lb. axle. I am moving up to a larger 15 wheel. I have the room to do so. Will I need to change to another hub or will the ones that I have now be sufficient? Thanks.

Any hub will have a range of compatible wheel sizes. The idler hub # 84545UC1-EZ you referenced will work with rim diameters from 13-inches to 15-inches. All idler hubs we have for 3500-lb axles work with these same rim diameters. If your 3500-b axle's current hubs now have 13-inch, 14-inch or 14-1/2-inch wheels on them they will be fine with 15s.

Do note that moving to a larger wheel/tire will not change the axle, hub or trailer weight capacity but it may well allow your larger tires to run cooler which is always a good thing.
