Does the Amount of Diodes in an LED Dictate Overall Brightness

does the amount of diodes in a light determine how bright it is?

The number of diodes can help make an LED brighter but the diodes can also be brighter or dimmer themselves so it's not totally dependent on the number of diodes. I've seen really big single diodes that are super bright outshine lights with several diodes. Like I have LED headlights in my car and they are one really big diode and they incredibly bright.
