Towing a 2020 Van Leigh Beacon 34RLB with RamBox

Question:

Hi, I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed with Ram Boxes and the auto leveling system. After reading quite a bit, I realize this is not the optimum configuration for 5th wheels. However, Im looking to pull a 2020 Van Leigh Beacon 34RLB. 18K with a Lippert 711707 Pin Box. I have been reading about some configurations with a stationary BandW or Curt hitch to get and couple it with the proper Reese Sidewinder. Can you make some recommendations? Thanks,

I have great news, you can still tow a fifth wheel trailer using a 2019 Ram 2500 with RamBox. That said, your options are limited in regards to hitches and pin boxes. I was able to confirm with Lippert that the 2020 Van Leigh Beacon 34RLB uses a Lippert 1621 pin box therefore you need to use the Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR.

For a compatible fifth wheel hitch, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928 which will require the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50054-58 and the 5th Airborne Custom Wedge Kit # RP44FR but that would be it and you could then tow your trailer without issue.
