Replacement Normally Open Door Magnet Switch for SCS/Coach Steps

Question:

06 damon astoria 3465 I picked up a new switch at at camping world and when it os open this switch is in closed circute so when I turn my ignition key on my steps extend out so I assume I need a open to open circute switch. I thought in my mind i could swap the wire and reverse the polarity. Did not work. Is that what i need and do you have one. Thanks

The correct replacement door magnet for a set of Coach Steps is the Replacement Door Switch for Lippert Electric Coach Step part # LC301694 which is a normally open switch. In order to confirm you need a normally open switch, touch the two magnet wires together, if the steps retract then you know you need a normally open switch like the above.
