Question:
hi The pro series 6502 seems to have enough clearance to avoid melting a bag with the exhaust of a Toyota Highlander, would you confirm? Thanks !

The 20x48 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches part # 6502 is an excellent option and it has a raised/extended shank to help keep your contents away from objects such as the exhaust so I do agree with your hypothesis. That said, this could vary so much from vehicle to vehicle it would be hard to give a definite yes/no answers. However, we do have the 24x60 etrailer.com Off Road Cargo Carrier part # e98874 which has a 2" rise in the shank and sits 19-1\2" away from the hitch pin hole when in use. I believe this will help your exhaust issue.
For a cargo bag, the etrailer Cargo Bag part # e98990 would be a good choice for either carrier.
