On the engine block of your 2015 Jeep Patriot there are cartridge holes that the block heater part # KH11812 would slip into. The one you'll use is close in proximity to water jackets in the block so the heat generated ends up warming the coolant and the rest of the engine. There would be no potential for leaks with this since the freeze plugs do not come out.
The cartridge hole you'll use to install this is on the front of the engine on the driver side according to Kat's.
