Features to know about

Smooth Hookups and Quick Adjustments: 2-Speed Sidewind Design

When you’re lining up to hitch or drop a load, every turn of the handle counts. This square 2-speed jack gives you both torque and speed right where you need it. Low gear delivers full lifting power for heavy loads while high gear spins faster for quick adjustments. Switching between gears is simple—just push or pull the arm to change speeds. The sidewind handle (TJD-12000-HD, sold separately) keeps the motion smooth and controlled, so you can get the job done without fighting the crank.

Built to Handle Heavy Loads: 10,000 lb Lift Capacity

No one wants a jack that struggles under weight. With a 10,000 lb lift capacity and a 12,000 lb support capacity, this unit is made for serious hauling duty. The 1-1/4" jack screw and twin thrust bearings make raising and lowering steady under pressure, even when the trailer is fully loaded. Weld it on once and it’s ready for heavy use day after day.

More Reach Without Extra Blocks: Drop Leg with Spring Return

Sometimes the ground isn’t level or the trailer sits high. The built-in drop leg gives you an extra 13-1/2" of adjustment for those taller setups or uneven surfaces. Just pull the side-facing plunger pin to release it, and the spring return brings it right back when you’re done. With a total adjustment of 25-7/8", this jack keeps setup simple and takes the hassle out of stacking boards or hunting for level spots.

Ready for Real-World Conditions: Weld-On Strength and Wide Footplate

Soft ground and rough terrain can eat up smaller jacks, but this design holds firm. The 8-1/4" x 8" footplate spreads the load to keep it from sinking, while the 4" outer tube and 3-1/2" inner tube give it the structural strength to handle hard use. Weld-on installation keeps it solidly in place, and the built-in grease zerk makes maintenance fast and clean so it stays smooth through the seasons.

Practical Details That Make Work Easier: Smart Design and Simple Care

Every part of this jack is made with everyday use in mind. The plunger pin is positioned to the side for easy reach, and the black-painted tubes fight off corrosion. Between the effortless greasing port and the option to secure the handle with a weld-on clip (TJD-12000-CLIP, sold separately), you can keep the setup neat, durable, and ready for the next run.

Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Jack - Square 2-Speed Jack - e79FV

Hello, neighbors. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our very own etrailer Square Two Speed Jack with a nice drop leg that has a spring return, and it's considered a side wind crank jack. And it has a rating of 10,000 pounds capacity of lift. So folks, this two speed jack is gonna let you raise and lower your trailer. It has a low gear that offers full lifting power, and then a high gear provides ultimate speed.

Now, as you probably know with these kind of jacks, you simply push in or pull out to get to that other speed that you need, whether it's high or low. The secondary arm here would be a connection rod if you want to connect another jack, like a fall leg jack over to the other side of the trailer, camper, or whatnot. Now this is gonna be ideal for agricultural or commercial applications. It does have a drop leg included. It's a pull pen.

It's a spring loaded return. Obviously, I'm not gonna be able to pick this up by myself 'cause it's just super heavy and beefy. But there's an inner tube in here that has holes inside of it and that's gonna let you pull the spring pin, push the jack leg down to help get to the ground faster to then start lifting the jack. Now that foot plate, or those hole spacing on that drop leg, are three and three eighths on center between those holes in that drop leg The foot plate's very big. It's eight and a quarter by eight inches.

Once again, this is rated for 10,000 pounds capacity. It is heavy duty steel with a nice black powder coat finish over it. You've got two grease Zerks here on the front. That's gonna be for greasing up the gears and everything inside the jack. That's gonna help it live longer on its lifespan and everything, and gonna help it work properly for you as well.

Now the plunger pin, as you can see on the spring leg, is positioned to the side. That makes you get to it easier. And the jack screw itself inside of here is a one and a quarter inch jack screw for heavy lifting. Now we do offer separately a sidewind handle that would attach to this. So there's no handle included. That is sold separately. And then I also recommend you get a weld-on clip to then secure that jack handle when you're not using it. Now speaking of weld-on, this jack is a welding application, so you would need to potentially grind off wherever you're gonna be welding it on, obviously, and get that attached if you're doing it yourself. More likely than not, you're probably getting it done by professional welder. They'll know how to do all that as well. Now this does have a twin thrust bearing that's gonna make extending and retracting that jack very easy. And again, it is black powder coated on the inner and outer tube. So once again, you can see part of that inner tube down here at the bottom, all the way up inside of there. That inner tube is powder coated as well. Well folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up. Just a quick look today. Let's do some quick measurements real quick and then we'll wrap it up. A four inch by four inch outer tube. The inner tube is three and a half by three and a half. And overall height of the jack, whenever it's retracted like it is now, it is 28 inches off the ground. When it's fully extended, it's gonna be 40 and a quarter inches from the top to the ground. So that gives you a total lift of 25 and seven eighth inches. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up. I'm Steven. Thanks so much for your time. Have a good one.

They shipped it right away, I got it faster than amazon. Great service, price, everything as expected. I was able to get 2 full 14 oz grease tubes in one of those jacks, make sure to put a lot in the ring and pinion section (top grease fitting), load the grease in there so those gears and bearings don't rust.

  • How To Switch Speeds On Square 2-Speed Jack
Hello again Hayden; to switch speeds/gears on the # e79FV you push in/pull out the arm. Take a look at the video below and you will see how it works starting at the 20 second mark.

  • Electric Trailer Jack For Sundowner 3 Horse Trailer
Hello Angela, I can definitely point you in the right direction. Sundowner does not list exactly what kind of jacks they use online, but looking at pictures of these trailers online, the front jack on the Sundowner horse trailer looks very much like the Square 2-Speed Jack # e79FV. This jack has a 28" retracted height and 40-1/4" extended length, so you will want to compare this to the current jack and make sure it will be adequate. Also confirm that the 12,000 lb support capacity is enough...

  • Do Two Speed Jacks have a Second Higher or Lower Speed than Single Speed
The second speed is going to be like a "granny low" gear that is easier to crank but requires a lot more turns to get it to move. The single speed jacks would have the higher speed of a 2 speed jack.

  • Difference Between e79FV & e26FV Jacks
Hi Darryl, These jacks are exactly the same dimensions, but the difference is the the Square 2-Speed Jack - Drop Leg w/ Spring Return - Sidewind - 25-7/8" Lift - 10K # e79FV has the drop leg plunger on the front of the jack while the Square 2-Speed Jack - Drop Leg w/ Spring Return - Sidewind - 25-7/8" Lift - 10K # e26FV has the drop leg on the side, so you can choose which is best for your setup. From there, both will work exactly the same and use the same specs to work for you. What style...
