Wiring a Trailer Brake Controller to a 2011 Chevy Silverado Tow Package Wiring

Question:

i have 2011 chevrolet 1500 silverado it has 5 wires and my tekonsha v has 4 blue white black red ?

The 2011 Chevy Silverado will have five blunt-cut wires under the left side of the instrument panel located above your left shin as you are seated in the drivers seat. The wires can be identified by a white label and the color of the wires. The wire colors are Red/Black wire, White wire, Light Blue/White wire, Dark Blue wire, and an Orange wire. I have included a picture showing the location for reference.

You will need to connect them as follows:

Truck Red/Black to Brake Controller Black for Battery Power
Truck White to Brake Controller White for Ground
Truck Light Blue/White to Brake Controller Red for Brake Light Signal
Truck Drk Blue to Brake Controller Blue for Output to Trailer
Orange not used
