Question:

I bought my 2020 Grand Cherokee without the tow package with no plans on towing. Now that I bought a bass boat, that changes things. I already have a hitch and ball picked out but need wiring for a 4 way and how to install?

A wiring harness that will fit the bill for your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727. This wiring will provide that 4 way connection you need to power your bass boat trailer light functions. The kit includes a Powered Modulite to reduce strain on your wiring system and is easy to install behind your Grand Cherokee's tail lights on both sides.

Once plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse. You can use the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 to secure the connector in place. Applying Dielectric Greaselike part # 11755 is a great way to keep grime out and help maintain a reliable electrical connection between your vehicle and trailer.
