Towing Package with Hitch, Wiring, Ball Mount, and Brake Controller for 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Can you help me by making sure I have the right equipment. I am looking to buy a tow hitch and the wiring for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Hello Junoir,

Happy to help get the correct tow package for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

- Hitch: Our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98901. I really like how our hitch comes in the matte black finish, I think it really gives it that nice OEM look. If you prefer the gloss finish # TS56ZR.

- Wiring: T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727. The # 118727 is a plug-n-play wiring that will T off on the connectors in you back taillights, you will also need to run a power cord from the battery to the rear. This is going to get a 4 flat on the back to control your lights.

If you are going to be pulling a trailer with brakes and need a 7 way on the back, you will still need to install the # 118727, and then build on it by installing the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 is a bit more work as you will need to run a brake wire to the rear, power line from the battery, and some amps a long the way. I attached a wiring diagram for you to take a look at. You will also want to grab a # 18136 so you do not need to drill into the hitch for the 7 way mounting bracket.

- Ball Mount: If you just need a 2" ball, I would get our etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e67DR. If you would like something with a 2" and 2 5/16" ball, then get the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 2" Drop, 2" Rise - 10,000 lbs # BPH69MR.

- Brake Controller: Last but not least, the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness - Dash Knob - Proportional # RED52VR. I really like how this controller has the knob on the dash so you can easily adjust the brakes, and also if you were ever in an emergency situation it is nice having that manual override right there.

- Anti-theft: in the world we live in you can never be too safe. Check out the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches - 3-1/2" Span # 63232, it is a locking hitch pin but also an anti-rattle to keep things a little more peaceful for you.
