Do I understand that this part will not work on the factory hitch receiver that came on my 2017 Silverado 1500? Thank you.

That is correct; the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer # 63080 is only designed to fit on Draw-Tite brand aftermarket hitches. Instead, I recommend using the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp # GY88XR for your 2" hitch receiver to help eliminate rattling that occurs from your ball mount or hitch mounted accessory when installed.
