Question:
Are your Westlake ST205 75/R15 tires “Super ST” or “ST100”, and can you explain the difference between the two types in terms of quality and construction?

Hey John, thanks for reaching out. The Westlake # LHWL300 tire you’re looking at isn’t really labeled as “Super ST” or “ST100.” It’s more of their standard OEM trailer tire that a lot of RVs come with from the factory. Construction-wise, it’s what you’d expect for a modern ST tire, steel belts, polyester plies, and a nylon overlay to help with strength and heat.
Where the ST100 vs “Super ST” conversation comes in is more about product lines/marketing tiers, not completely different tire categories. The ST100 is more of a consumer retail line you’ll see sold individually, with features like steel belts and nylon caps for stability and durability. “Super ST” is usually just a branding term some sellers use to describe upgraded or higher load/speed-rated ST tires, not an official construction standard from Westlake.
The # LHWL300 tire is right in line with what most RVs come with from the factory. It’s a standard-duty ST radial, not a lower-tier tire, but also not a premium upgrade like a Goodyear Endurance or similar. So, the difference isn’t really “good vs bad,” it’s more OEM standard vs marketed product lines, and the construction between them is extremely similar.
What do you usually haul with this trailer? Camp gear, boats, or work stuff?

Thanks for your reply. I have a 32 foot Grand Design Imagine RV, primarily used for dry camping but hoping to do some cross country. The Super ST’s it came with (sidewall printing) are over 8 years old but just the fact they’ve lasted that long is incentive to replace them with the same tire. I see tires advertised as ST100 for sale for about $50 less than the Westlakes on your website, prompting the question of quality/construction and which type etrailer is selling. That’s a substantial difference if they’re essentially the same tire but I’m more concerned about reliability if there’s a difference.
