Can I Leave Brake Flange On When Replacing Wheels and Tires
Updated 12/30/2019 | Published 12/29/2019 >
Question:
Need to replace my hubs for the new set of tires I bought and wondering if its ok to place them next to the old brake plates or if I need to figure out how to remove them. The spindle looks good so Im trying to avoid replacing those as well. Thought it was going to be a simple tire swap. Just bought the trailer and I dont know any details on it other than its a class 3 frame and the tires have to sit in between the frame with the existing axles. Ill just leave these pics to avoid confusion...Im pretty new to this. Thanks. -Mike

It sounds like you are asking if you can switch out the tires and wheels with the brake flange still on the spindle and yes you can. However it looks like your trailer is larger and you may consider adding braking assemblies to it. If you let me know the diameter of the old braking assembly I can recommend brakes for you.
