Question:

With this product, I can tell from the photo it has a rise as compared to a regular ball. I would like to know the rise so I can choose a ball receiver. Thanks!

You are correct the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter Shank - Chrome - 7.5K part # C40047 does have a rise. On a standard hitch ball it sits flush with the ball mount but the RockerBall has the included height of the shock absorber which makes it about 1-1/2" taller than a standard ball. This is important when choosing a ball mount. You want to choose a ball mount that has an additional 2" of drop if your ball mount is in the drop position. For example if your ball mount has 4" drop now you will need a ball mount with a 6" drop. If your ball mount is in the rise position you want to subtract 2" from the rise and use a ball mount that has 2" less of a rise then what you normally use.

The shank of the RockerBall is 1" diameter so you will need a ball mount with about 1" ball hole size. You also want the ball mount platform to be 3/8" of an inch thick to use the RockerBall. I have attached a helpful video for your reference and an article that explains how to measure for rise/drop of the ball mount. If you need a ball mount with more a drop to make up for the height difference of the ball, I recommend Draw-Tite Ball Mount part # 40346 which has 1" ball hole diameter and a 6" drop. It fits a 2" hitch.
