Question:
I have the new body Silverado 1500 crew cab 4wd z71 RST 5.3L v8 8 speed automatic transmission 3.23 rear end and towing capacity of roughly 9600 to 9700 lbs with a combined maximum weight of 15k lbs can I have a gooseneck hitch in my truck bed or no. If I can whatd be the difference between it and conventional towing ie off the rear hitch. I transort boats bbq smoker trailers and all as needed and looking to step up some but not over kill the truck by any means.

When compared to a bumper pull trailer, a gooseneck trailer has a few clear advantages. First, since the gooseneck trailer's tongue weight falls over the rear axle as opposed to the rear of the vehicle, a gooseneck trailer is going to provide more stability and less sway than a bumper pull trailer. You'll also find that a gooseneck trailer is going to be easier to manuever than a bumper pull trailer because of the tighter turning radius. Switching to a gooseneck hitch will not increase the towing capacity of your truck, so you're still going to be limited by the GCWR of 15000-lbs for your Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8.
If your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 does not already have a gooseneck hitch you can add one with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1019 as long as you have the 5-3/4 foot bed. This kit will install an underbed gooseneck hitch receiver to allow you to tow any gooseneck trailers you may need to tow and still provide you with a clear truck bed when it's not in use. B&W is arguably one of the most recommended brands when it comes to durability and quality, as shown by the strong reviews.
If you need a wiring harness to extend from the factory 7 way connection to your trailer connections, you can use the Bargman # 50-97-410 which has a 90 degree neck on the connector to make connecting in tight spaces much easier.
