Swapping King Pin Setup on Kaufman Car Hauler Back to Gooseneck Setup

Question:

I am thinking of getting a Kaufman 3/4 car wedge that is equipped with a fifth wheel hitch. It looks like I can remove the fifth wheel and this gooseneck coupler. Is my thinking correct or do I need something different?

I looked up several pictures of the Kaufman 3/4 car wedge and I couldn't find any that showed it having a fifth wheel king pin instead of a gooseneck. The ones I found all had gooseneck couplers which yours could have had swapped to a king pin setup but I'd have to see the setup to be absolutely certain.

Most likely the trailer had a gooseneck setup like the part # BD0288660300 you referenced which has an inner and outer tube and a fifth wheel adapter was installed on it like the part # BD0289650300 in place of the gooseneck. With the part # BD0288660300 you would be able to then swap it back to a gooseneck setup. If the picture I attached matches what you have then this would work well for you.
