Question:
I have a 26’ home made trailer where should I put double axle

The ideal axle location(s) is a location that allows the trailer tongue weight to end up being 10 to 15 percent of the total trailer weight. Normally a great place to start is by having the center between the two axles 60 percent back from the coupler of it. This leaves 40 percent behind the axle centers which is normally what gets the correct tongue weight. Sometimes this doesn't always work but I attached a help article and picture to this page that covers more of the process. 60 percent of 26 feet is 15-1/2 feet.
