Best Bike Rack for a Specialized Como 4.0 Bike

Question:

What is the best/affordable rack for this bike. It has a low pass thru ladies style, so I assume the style where the bike weight is supported by the wheels is the best.

The best/affordable bike rack I have for your Specialized Como 4.0 Bike is the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412B. The Saris Freedom 2 has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and the unique frame clamp system is actually designed for bikes with odd frame shapes so it will be a perfect match for you. I have even attached a photo for you of a similar bike and how these unique frame clamps work. The other great feature of the Saris Freedom 2 is that is it super lightweight at only 22.5 lbs so you can take it on and off the vehicle. I am not sure what your budget is but this will definitely be one of the more cost effective options for a heavy bike with fenders and drop tube frame.

Please note, you cannot use a wheel mount bike rack on a bike that has fenders.

Como 4.0 specialized - would a thule easyfold Tx 2 be a good carrier for two comps or is this saris a better rack. I want to purchase a rack once

Yes, the Thule EasyFold # TH903202 will actually work really well for the Como 4.0 Specialized bikes. It features the same kind of attachment design as the Saris Freedom with its adjustable clamps but also features an integrated ramp to help with loading/unloading.

@ChrisR : The Thule XT-2 doesn't work. The adjustable clamps do not attach to ebikes with nonstandard frames.

@Ken The adjustable clamps on the Thule EasyFold # TH903202 can accommodate bike tubes with up to a 3-1/8" diameter. From what I could find in the specs for a Como 4.0 Specialized it looks like this will fit just fine. What is your experience with the EasyFold XT and it not working with non-standard frames?
