Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look at our Van Windows Direct SIKA-207 primer. Now folks, this is going to be for your van window installation and installing van windows isn't just about the glass, it's about making sure the windows stays sealed and secure for years and years to come, right So that's where this proper surface preparation is going to make all the difference. So again, this primer is designed to promote a strong bond (shaking) between the glass surface, the vehicle, and the automotive urethane adhesive. So this is going to help create that long-lasting, weather tight installation whenever you do everything right.
So before that urethane is applied, sold separately here to etrailer, this primer is going to be brushed onto the prepared surfaces. That's going to improve adhesion while also helping to ensure that that adhesive performs the way it's supposed to. Now, obviously I'm not going to open this up today, but you'll take that safety cap off this, black cap, after you've shaken it (shaking) to get everything premixed and whatnot. Just make sure you're following the manufacturer's instructions, obviously. And using the correct primer like the SIKA-207 is very important because the urethane isn't just holding your glass in place.
It again creates that primary seal that's going to keep out water dust and elements. And you don't want to skip this step or use the wrong primer because that can compromise the bond, reduce your long-term reliability of your installation, and you just don't want the glass falling out over time, right So make sure you're using the right stuff the first time.
