The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 does need capture plates for a Rota-Flex pin box; you will need the Capture Plates for Trailair Rota-Flex Pin Boxes # DM6171. These will replace the standard capture plates on the Hijacker and the reason you need them is they are designed specifically to work with Rota-Flex pin boxes in order to prevent it from pivoting when it is inside your Hijacker.
Additionally, to mount this hitch in your 2018 Ram 2500 you will need the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552025-71.
