Should Electric Boat Trailer Winch Route Strap Through Eye Hook of Trailer

Question:

Can I pull my boat with the strap from the unit thru the eye hook or do I need a separate ratchet strap that take the load off the unit? I have been reading articles that with electric winches that I should concerned

You can use the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Trailer Winch # TW4015 to get the bow eye close enough for the trailer's strap to attach to it, but you would not want to route this through the eye or use this as a way to hold the boat to the trailer when on the road.
