Should Titan Hydraulic Brake Lines and Fittings be Installed on Frame of 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 07/31/2019 | Published 07/30/2019

Question:

I am working on a disc brake conversion on my 2010 Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback. I plan on using the T4830000 Titan tubing kit. My fifth-wheel has an enclosed underbelly plastic panels holding up fiberglass insulation. My question is, should I take down the panels and insulation and install the tubing up in the belly, or install the tubing outside of the panels, attaching the tubing to the frame of the fifth-wheel? My thought was to do it outside, hence, if something every leaks, I can easily find it. I hope to get some expert advice on this one.

Definitely install the Titan Hydraulic Brake Lines and Fittings for Tandem-Axle, Torsion-Axle Trailers # T4830000 on the frame of your 2010 Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback. For just a utility trailer the lines would be installed on the frame so you don't have to worry about anything other than normal wear and tear.

This kit will work great with the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712D you have looked at as well as the HydraStar # HBA16 electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) actuator.

I have also attached a helpful article about adding dics brakes to a trailer that you can reference.
