Does Installing Aftermarket Brake Controller in 2012 Ram 3500 Require Going to Dealer to Re-Program

Question:
2012 ram 3500 6.7 with factory brake controller. There’s two plugs on the back side of the factory brake controller. Does the harness #3023-p plug into those two connectors after I unplug them or do they connect else where? I understand if I don’t go to the dealer to have them re-program I will get a fault on the dash, but will it cause other issues. I just don’t want to have to go to the dealer and give them more $$$$$$$$$$. Thanks

The Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In # 3023-P will work with aftermarket brake controllers, but I'm not 100 percent clear if that's what you are attempting to do. If so, you are going to have to go to the dealer if you already have the Dodge factory brake controller.
