Is Curt Hitch # 13333 Rated for Weight Distribution
Updated 07/16/2019 | Published 07/14/2019 >
Question:
I purchased this hitch because it said it’s compatible with weight distribution. Someone pointed out to me in your question section where the manufacturer says this hitch is not compatible with weight distribution. Also. I just noticed that on my bumper where this bolts threw it says 5k capacity. Do the additional bolts in the back bring it up to the 6k and 10k trailer weight ratings? I’m just looking for clarity because I’m supposed to be picking up a travel trailer soon that has a total weight of 5900lbs. I have a 2012 ram 1500 slt with 4.7

The Curt hitch part # 13333 is rated for use with weight distribution systems. This hitch has a capacity of 6,000 lb trailer weight without a WD system and then with a WD system is rated for up to 10,000 lbs. Either way it would have capacity for a 5,900 lb trailer.
The bumper towing capacity of your truck is related to if you were to use the ball hole of the bumper to tow from. That said, you should look up the towing capacity of your truck in your owners manual and be sure not to exceed that figure as well.
