The differences between the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver part # E98858 and Curt Hitch part # 13534 for 2008 - 2013 Toyota Highlander is the powder coat. They both install the same, have the same weight rating of 750 lb tongue weight the only difference is the etrailer.com hitch is a matte black powder coat for a more rugged look and the Curt has a glossy black powder coat.
The Curt Support straps are not required for Class III hitches, they were required for Class I hitches that needed extra support carrying bike racks or cargo carriers that create a lot of leverage (bouncing) but Curt has since stopped requiring them with their hitches. Therefore, the strap would not be needed for the Class III hitch on the Highlander.
