Are There Adapter Rails for 2014 Ram Prep Package Lower Than Curt Adapter Rails

As stated in an answer to someone else’s question, this adapter will add 1 1/2” to the overall height. Is there a different adapter that will add less height but still work with the curt roller and A20 hitch. I have this adapter and the front of my camper is just way too high and everything is adjusted as low as possible.

There are no adapter rails for your 2014 Ram 2500 or 3500 with the prep package that are going to offer you any less height than the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch # C16022 for your Curt A20 Curt A20 # C16541. This hitch and rails combo, when at its lowest setting, is 19 inches and there is an option that can work for you to get a level towing set up.

An over/under conversion kit is one option, and what this does is move your trailer's leaf springs to the top of your axle and lifts your trailer approximately the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack (please keep in mind this conversion kit is for use with double-eye springs only).

If you have a 2-3/8" round axle you would need Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 or if you have a 3" round axle you would need Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00. This option will give you a good amount of height (depending on your leaf springs) and is the best solution apart from a new hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3670 which fits your Dodge Ram's prep package without an adapter and at its lowest setting is 17 inches.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…

Yes you are - all 5th wheel hitches are going to require some type of rails in order to be used. So you'd need #DM8552016-71 for your 2006 Dodge Ram.
