Updated 10/18/2025 | Published 07/11/2019

Question:

My RV refrigerator is leaking under the drawer and when I open the door it all comes pouring out... it’s starting to damage my wood.. Can you tell me what could be causing this

It sounds like the refrigerator may have a drip pan or drain line that allows it to drain condensation. If the drain line is plugged then you will have dripping inside of the fridge. Or the end of the drain line has somehow come loose and is not draining to the outside but the inside of your refrigerator. Sometimes there are little plastic fittings on the end of the drain hose that may pop off if there's too much water pressure causing it to leak inside of the refrigerator as well. If it has the drip pan then it could be cracked.

If you let me know what brand of refrigerator it is I can help you further.

@Vernie Yes, most Norcold refrigerators have a removable pan. What model do you have?

@Carolyn The drain tube is located inside the fridge. You will need to remove the grate located on the back of the refrigerator. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get this comment right away!

@SteveW Sorry for the late reply, we had some issues with getting these comments sent to us. There could be a few reasons why your GE RV Fridge is leaking. The most common issue is the drain pan being cracked. The exact location of your drip pan is determined by the model and age of your refrigerator. Unfortunately if it's newer than a 1987, the pan may not be removable so the fridge would need to be serviced. Another reason it could be leaking is the drain tube is broken. Normally those drain tubes become brittle over time. There are a lot of videos online about finding the drain tube and replacing it. We do not have any videos available for that process at this time but I would give it a quick google search!
